Steve Graydon has been working with Terra Fuego since 2016, consulting, writing grants and implementing landscape level restoration, conservation, and risk reduction to improve the health of forest ecosystems. Graydon is a professional with a a vision of an ember aware California that’s prepared for the fires of the future. His conviction lies in maintaining the prosperity of our forests and the well-being of residents in the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) and rural communities. Additionally Graydon works with Simtable technologies to train fire personnel and educate communities through the use of interactive simulations and demonstrations. Prior to his leadership at Terra Fuego, Graydon worked for 12 years as a wildland fire fighter throughout California quickly gaining the skills and experience nesessary to consult, educate, and effectively implement on prescribed burn. Graydon has worked as a Helitack crew member for the El Dorado National Forest, a Hotshot on the Mendocino Interagency Hotshot Crew, engine crew member for the Cal Fire Lassen Modoc Unit, and he was a Smokejumper for the Region 5 Smokejumper base in Redding. Graydon attended Chico State University excelling in his studies and eventually gaining his MA in Environmental and Risk Communication and Media studies.
