Our Mission
The Terra Fuego Resource Foundation implements landscape level restoration, conservation, and risk reduction to improve the health of forest ecosystems, and to improve the well-being of residents in the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) and rural communities. Through job development training we also help residents from Northern California gain meaningful experience while these workers prepare for prescribed burns and reduce fuels for homeowners throughout the region. Terra Fuego supports projects on federal and private land to create the resources land managers need to achieve their ecological and fire prevention goals.
A Tempered Vision
Through our efforts we see a future where rural communities and public lands are resilient to the changing climate and massive wildfires. By investing in training for increased burning capacity, and the judicial application fire, we temper our watersheds and improve the ecological health of the landscape. These practices are adopted by rural communities, creating cooperative burning programs to create expanding programs that inform, train, and protect communities at risk.

The education and outreach work that the Terra Fuego Resource Foundation does is supported by grants from foundations and other nonprofits, as well as contributions from concerned businesses and individuals.
